Thank you for a very interesting talk by Bill Gloyn (Master) from the Worshipful Company of Masons. He was accompanied by Andrew Bowles (Renter Warden-designate) and their wives Eirka and Claire. After being shown around our impressive workshop facilities and admiring the students’ work and achievements, Bill told a story about the origins of the Company from days before the Battle of Agincourt, the impact of the Great Fire of London in 1666 and the gradual resurgence of the Company to its current position.
Students talked about funding opportunities, the award of becoming a Yeoman and the concept of the life of the Journey Man back into the UK!
The Company also explained they will be maintaining an online Register of Masons Marks – Worshipful Company of Masons making it possible for future generations to identify the mason who carried out earlier work. You can access the current MAKE YOUR MARK database here.
